Jenna Fischer and writer Lee Kirk tied the knot over the weekend. “They were married on July 3 in front of family and friends in Malibu,” her rep confirms to PEOPLE.
And according to Rainn Wilson, Fischer’s costar on The Office, the nuptials went off without a hitch. “Went to the most beautiful wedding I’ve ever experienced,” Wilson Tweeted over the weekend. “Total Love, Jenna Fischer & Lee Kirk!”

Jenna Fischer, the Emmy-nominated St. Louisan who co-stars in the hit TV series “The Office,” has maintained a parallel career in movies such as “Blades of Glory” and “Walk Hard.” Currently she co-stars in “Solitary Man,” which opens locally on Friday. Fischer plays the daughter who shows tough love to ne’er-do-well car dealer Michael Douglas. Susan Sarandon plays her mother.
We recently spoke with Fischer by phone.
Q: You worked with some Hollywood legends in this movie. Have you reached the point in your career where you’re not impressed by other celebrities, or do you still get a kick out of meeting them?
A: I totally get a kick out of it. It’s not so much the acting as the time between the scenes, when someone like Susan Sarandon is being warm and generous and telling me stories. Or when I’m talking to Michael Douglas about travel and the places he loves. Those moments make me pinch myself.

Happy New Year!
This is a quick little blog to thank all of you for your sweet emails about the Golden Globes. I’m bummed we didn’t win but even more bummed that the Cowboys are out of the playoffs…it was a tough Sunday!
In case you missed it here was my Golden Globes dress – a vintage Halsten: I loooooved this dress! It was super-comfy.
It rained something horrible last Sunday and they didn’t put a tent over the red carpet so we got SOAKED on our way into the awards. Luckily they set up a little hair and makeup touch-up stand in the ladies bathroom. I got a free lipstick!
My favorite part of the dinner was sitting next to my BFF Angela Kinsey all night. We did a lot of star gazing. At one point we tried to go to the bathroom but got stuck in a little traffic jam that included Kate Winslet, Meryl Streep, Colin Farrell and Tom Hanks. We were pinching ourselves and trying to act normal when we came upon Courtney Cox and Jennifer Aniston. It was all very surreal.

Jenna Fischer is in talks to star opposite Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis in the upcoming comedy Hall Pass. Fischer will play Wilson’s wife, who gives her husband a free pass to sleep around (and starts getting around town herself in the process).

Jenna Fischer is producing a new hour long comedic drama for NBC. Read these two articles I found about her new show:
Charlie Parker, the S.A. private eye who’s the inspiration for a new comedic drama being produced by “Office” star Jenna Fischer, is growing more and more excited. He just received the pilot written by Alex Taub (“Eli Stone,” “Judging Amy”) focusing on a lumber salesman turned detective. Parker said his name is used and it’s set in San Antonio. While reading it, his wife, Carole, laughed and he cried. “It’s an overwhelming thing to read about yourself,” the P.I. said. The pilot goes to NBC mid-January, and Parker should know if it is a series by month’s end.
She’s putting together a show based on the exploits of real-life private eye Charlie Parker. It would be set in San Antonio and Fischer is developing the show for her network, NBC. She describes it as an hour long comedic drama (thankfully she didn’t use the term “dramedy”), a lot like Magnum, P.I. or Columbo.
