NEWS:
I can’t verify that all of the information posted below is correct. 1-Hour Special Office Episode to follow Super Bowl XLIII Spoilers:
The Office Likely To Be Seen By 25 Million After Super Bowl:
The episode of NBC’s The Office following the Super Bowl is likely to be seen by 25 million viewers if the recent past viewership of the “Program After The Super Bowl” is any indication. The viewership numbers for the “Program After The Super Bowl” are pretty crazy, hardly the relatively smooth increase shown by the Super Bowl itself, but I feel pretty good about a 25 million viewer guess.
“I have an intimate scene with Jack Black,” Leachman — who recently competed on Dancing With the Stars — told Entertainment Tonight Tuesday while prepping for her role as Grand Marshall at the Tournament of Roses New Years Day parade.
“He has to take me naked out of a bath tub and we kiss a lot,” added Leachman, 82.
If you fell in love with Cloris Leachman on the dance floor this Fall or when she grabbed Uncle Jesse’s behind at the Bob Saget roast (or, like me, when she replaced Edna Garrett on The Facts of Life), you’ll be happy to hear that sources tell me exclusively, Leachman is the latest big name star to sign on for The Office’s post Super Bowl episode. EW’s Michael Ausiello was the first to report that Jack Black and Jessica Alba are also on board.
Remember how yesterday I reported that The Office had scored the equivalent of a touchdown with a two-point conversion by getting Jack Black to appear in its post-Super Bowl episode? Well, they just won the freakin’ game!
Jessica Alba’s doing the ep, too!
‘Office’ Exclusive: Jack Black invades Dunder Mifflin:
The Office’s post-Super Bowl episode just scored the equivalent of a touchdown with a two-point conversion: Jack Black has signed on to guest star in the hour-long episode, sources confirm to me exclusively.
The hitcom’s producers are keeping the specifics of Black’s stint under lock and key, so the only detail I’ve been able to uncover is that the funny man won’t be playing himself. Or will he?
Dec. 3:
The roast of Mr. Scott will not be celebrity-driven, but producers are exploring the idea of incorporating some stunt casting into the project. However, the guest stars would be woven into the plotline in such a way as to not interfere with the carefully constructed world of the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin, a person familiar with the plotline said.
It’s expected the roast of Michael Scott will take place in the second half of the episode. Not surprisingly, Michael requests that his employees roast him.
The first half of the episode is expected to involve a “disaster” of some sort, one that’s linked to Dwight’s training as fire marshal.
Mr. Daniels has been thinking about the idea of a Super Bowl episode since at least April, when NBC said during its “in-front” presentation that his show would likely get a berth behind the big game. In August, he said the special promos his staff designed for the Olympics were good practice for a post-Super Bowl story.
“Our promos are getting a lot of positive attention in an environment of 70 million sports fans watching, so it’s good practice for post-Super Bowl,” Mr. Daniels said.
An NBC spokeswoman declined comment on the particulars of the “Office” episode.

Immediately following “Super Bowl XLIII” on February 1, NBC will broadcast an original, hour-long episode of “The Office” (10:30-11:30 p.m. ET; simultaneously to all time zones). Noteworthy announcements regarding this special episode are forthcoming.
