Melora Hardin, star of the hit NBC comedy “The Office,” made her Broadway stage debut as fame-hungry murderess Roxie Hart in the Tony Award-winning smash hit musical CHICAGO on Monday, December 29th, 2008 at Broadway’s Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St.). She will play a seven-week limited engagement in the long running merry murder musical, BroadwayWorld’s cameras cheered her on every step of the way as she made her splashy Broadway debut!

Best known to television audiences for her role as Jan Levenson, Steve Carell’s rigid former-boss and love interest on NBC’s “The Office,” Melora Hardin’s impressive career spans a variety of mediums, including numerous television series, several films, two CDs, live concerts… and now Broadway.

The most exciting news is that I’m going to be starring in CHICAGO on Broadway as Roxie Hart very soon! My run is from December 29th-Feb 12 and I’ve already started learning the songs and some choreography. It’s going to be so much fun for me. A real dream come true as I’ve always wanted to be on Broadway singing, dancing and acting my heart out! I really hope you can all come or at least any of you that will be on the East coast during that time. The amazing thing about theater is that when it’s done it’s done so don’t miss it!!

IGN: Has it been intriguing for you to see where they’ve taken her from where you started?

Hardin: Yeah, she’s a dream character for an actor, because there’s nothing better than to play the flaws. The flaws are really what’s fun for me and she’s so flawed. All that wonderful, spiraling out of control is so, so much fun.
