I really loved your movie, “Brief Interviews with Hideous Men”. Why do you think David Foster Wallace, included the word ‘hideous’, does he think all men are hideous or just the ones in his book? Also, I found some of the interviewees sympathetic, what did you think? Why did you only include the interviews in your movie and not the other portions of the book (i.e. the depressed woman)? I actually liked the way you cut the film, I found some portions of the book tough to understand, particularly the part involving the artist who’d lost his daughter in a swimming accident. Did you have a tough time with the book on your first read through?
