Halpert Baby Blog

Written by Nette on March 10, 2010 – 4:42 pm -

Pam started a baby blog! Read the latest post here:

Jim and I are at home with the baby. I started my maternity leave so I’ll be home for several weeks; he goes back to the office on Thursday (ha ha!).

Cecelia is doing beautifully. She’s getting used to visitors and is now a pro at sitting through photos (I’ve taken like a gigabyte of photos since Thursday). A whirlwind of people came over this weekend: both sets of grandparents, Jim’s brother and his wife, my aunt, Michael’s stopped by 4 times…I’ve gotten parenting advice from everyone – “Always be careful not to drop the baby.” Thanks for the tip, Dad.

Schrute-Space

Schrute-Space

Dwight posted a new blog over at Schrute-Space.

It seems that all the news last week was about the crybabies in southern PA. “Oh no, it snowed. What shall we do?” Ninnies. Stop whining that the government doesn’t plow or that the government ran out of salt. Where will it stop? Will citizens expect the government to fill potholes next? When will citizens take responsibility for themselves?

Mose and I have two snowplows – one is a refurbished municipal plow we bought at an auction in upstate New York. I will never miss a day of work because I can plow the road all the way to the office. (Note to all the motorists who get mad when I plow them in on the side of the highway: Don’t stop on the side of the highway.)

‘The Office’ wins in ratings last night and is renewed for season 7!

Written by Nette on March 5, 2010 – 7:22 pm -

NBC Press Release (RATINGS):

Last night, a special one-hour episode of “The Office” won its time period over “Grey’s Anatomy,” “CSI” and “Kitchen Nightmares” in adults 18-49, while the time-period debut of “The Marriage Ref” topped “Private Practice” and “The Mentalist” in primetime’s key demo, according to “fast affiliate-based” “live plus same day” viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

From 9-10 p.m. ET last night, a one-hour episode of “The Office” (4.7 rating, 12 share in adults 18-49, 9.0 million viewers overall), featuring the birth of Jim and Pam’s baby, won its tough time slot in adults 18-49 over ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” CBS’s “CSI” and Fox’s “Kitchen Nightmares.” This marks the first time that “The Office” has topped a first-run episode of ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” head-to-head in primetime’s key demographic of adults 18-49. “The Office” also won its highly competitive hour in adults 18-34 and all key adult-male demos – men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54. “The Office” was the #2 show on television Thursday night in adults 18-49, second only to Fox’s special Thursday “American Idol.”

This marks the top-rated telecast of “The Office” in both adults 18-49 and total viewers since the October 8, 2009 wedding episode.

NBC Press release (SEASON 7):

NBC has renewed three more of its Thursday-night comedies – “30 Rock” (9:30-10 p.m. ET), “The Office” (9-9:30 p.m. ET) and the freshman series “Community” (8-8:30 p.m. ET) for the 2010-11 season. The returning programs join the previously announced “Parks and Recreation” (Thursdays, 8:30-9 p.m. ET) that also will return for next season.

How baby Halpert got its name

Written by Nette on March 5, 2010 – 1:32 pm -

People.com:

Jenna Fischer became a mom and an aunt the very same week.

“The same week that we were shooting the episode where Pam’s baby is born, I was becoming the aunt for the very first time,” says Fischer, who spoke with PEOPLE about Thursday’s hour-long episode of The Office, in which her character Pam gave birth to a girl, named Cecelia Marie Halpert.

“Literally the day we shot Pam’s going to the hospital, my sister was going to the hospital, and the same day we shot me coming home from the hospital, my sister came home from the hospital. It was crazy! And so my dad [Jim] had one daughter going through it for real and another faking it.”

And thanks to Fischer, both babies have the same name.

“I got to name my baby!” says Fischer, who successfully lobbied The Office writers to use the name Cecelia. “I said I would really love to name the baby after my niece, so I did.”
